Aerospace Welding
Zero-defect welds on the toughest high-performance alloys.
TIP TIG in the
Aerospace Welding
Aerospace parts made from Invar 36, Inconel, or titanium need absolute precision. TIP TIG keeps heat input low. Distortion stays within the tightest tolerances. Wire agitation produces porosity-free, X-ray quality welds under 100% Argon. Post-weld cleanup needs only a wire brush.
Why TIP TIG
Minimal Distortion
Very low heat input holds critical tolerances on thin-wall and structural parts. Less rework, fewer lost hours.
100% X-Ray Quality
Puddle agitation produces porosity-free welds on all thicknesses. Meets the strictest aerospace codes.
Exotic Alloy Expertise
Proven on Invar 36, Inconel, titanium, and other alloys used in aircraft and spacecraft.
Clean Process
Runs on 100% Argon. Welds need only a wire brush — saves time and cost.
Reduced Rework
Higher first-pass quality means fewer repairs and less scrap. Production moves faster.
Space-Proven
Builds spacecraft and rocket parts for leading space programs worldwide.
SpaceX Starship — From 5 bar to 8.5 bar in 40 Days
In November 2019, a Starship tank welded with Flux Core exploded at just 5 bar during pressure testing. SpaceX switched to TIP TIG. Within 40 days, the new tanks reached 8.5 bar — the target for crewed flights. Every Starship and Super Heavy tank is now welded with TIP TIG. The switch also brought 20% mass reduction through more precise joints.
Titanium Welding — Cold Welds, Silver Beads, 100% Single-Pass
Conventional manual TIG runs titanium at 5–13 cm/min, with heat lingering above 370 °C around the bead — high enough to oxidize the seam. TIP TIG single-pass welds on titanium over 4 mm hold the weld-edge temperature at 150–195 °C measured 3 mm from the bead immediately after completion. Too cold for oxidation: untouched, 100% silver welds with no discoloration, no cracks, no porosity. 100–300% faster than conventional TIG.
